The Bible is the sole written authority for Baptists because it is from God and about God. It is the “perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.” (Baptist Faith & Message). While giving the highest regard for the Bible for this reason, Baptists do not worship the Bible. We worship the God of the Bible.
